Basics of Multiplication | Multiplication Tricks | Multiplication of two consecutive Even/Odd Numbers

Two Consecutive Even or Odd number can be multiplied in a fraction of second.
Want to know how ?

For this you should know squares of numbers.

Let us look at a simple Example.
Ex.  27 × 29
Ex.  44 × 46
Ex.  55 × 53
Ex.  34 × 32
Well if you calculate this by traditional method it will take little bit long duration of time. But with some logic and a knowledge of squares you will be able to calculate it's answers as 783, 2024, 2915 & 1088 respectively.
Isn't it interesting ?

so let's start with the steps you should follow to calculate these types of products.
Step 1 :- Calculate the square of the middle number. ( If you can remember it will increase your calculation speed)
Step 2 :- Subtract 1 from the obtained result. This will be your answer.
Ex.  27 × 29
Step 1 :- We will calculate square of 28 which is 784.
Step 2 :- Subtract 1 from 784.
Final Result  :- 783.

Ex.  44 × 46
Step 1 :- We will calculate square of middle no. (i.e 45)  which is 2025.
Step 2 :- Subtract 1 from 2025.
Final Result  :- 2024.

Ex.  55 × 53
Step 1 :- We will calculate square of middle no. (i.e 54)  which is 2916.
Step 2 :- Subtract 1 from 2916.
Final Result  :- 2915.

Ex.  34 × 32
Step 1 :- We will calculate square of middle no. (i.e 33)  which is 1089.
Step 2 :- Subtract 1 from 1089.
Final Result  :- 1088.

Logic :- This is based on the most popular squaring formula we have learnt in schooling.
(a + b)2 × (a – b)2 = a2 – b2
